Friendships and people who are encouraging and supportive are important for women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy.
Friendships are valuable, especially those who are true friends. When a person experiences challenging times, such as job loss, illness, or unplanned pregnancy, having friends to encourage, support, and listen to you is priceless. Yet, some women don’t feel supported. Perhaps some are new to the community and haven’t made a close circle of friends yet. Some may be afraid to tell others they are pregnant, fearing judgment.
True Care can provide support and encouragement when women feel uncertain, afraid, or alone. The resources we give to our patients and the programs we offer often fill the void women experience.
Resource Program for Unplanned Pregnancies
True Care’s Resource Program provides women the opportunity to sign up for Medicaid; finish school, which can lead to a better job; find affordable housing; help you stop smoking or be free from drug addiction; to be heard by a counselor, and so much more. Our Resource Program Coordinator can also help with other resources you may need. She has personal experience with abortion, and she welcomes the opportunity to share her story with any True Care patient who may be considering this option.
Parenting Programs
True Care provides parenting programs for women and for men who are patients of our center. Baby & Me walks a mother-to-be through her pregnancy, providing not only education about pregnancy, labor and delivery, and parenting tips, but also the encouragement and support a woman needs as she travels her pregnancy journey. Our Fathering in 15 Program is designed for dads-to-be, offering education on how to be the best father to their children and supportive of the mothers. At the end of the required sessions, an incentive item is awarded to participants, something useful for them and the baby.
Caring Support System
All True Care’s programs, just like our medical services, are offered free of charge.
True Care is here for you. If you need a pregnancy test and ultrasound to determine how far along you are, a compassionate advocate to explain all of your pregnancy options, information on the numerous resources available, or education on being the best parent you can be, we are here. We will help, support, and encourage you.
